Precision Skateboards
Precision Skateboards, through a business connection, approached Shawn about creating a "rewards card" for their frequent shoppers in the fall of 2003. They had specific requests and idea of what they wanted, including an idea that bordered on an illegal use of a piece of U.S. currency.
However, by carefully modifying a legal graphic of a two-dollar bill provided by one of Shawn's contact's and by getting it legally cleared through contacts Shawn had access to at that time, Shawn was able to modify what originally appeared to be a $2 bill into a specially modified graphic that did not violate any laws.
That graphic was formatted to fit a standard credit-card sized piece of plastic, and sent to a processor for gift cards.
Since then, Precision Skateboards has been using the graphic Shawn created for them as their "Repeat Offender Savings Card", as a gift card on and off since the end of 2003. To see a larger version of the rewards card, click on the picture of it, below.

Wal-Mart Stores
When Wal-Mart Stores hired Shawn in the winter of 2003, they weren't just looking for another employee - they were looking for someone who could help their company develop their emerging Connection Center concept beyond their home office region in Arkansas.

When the concept store at 87th & Hwy. 2 opened in Lincoln, NE in the spring of 2003, Shawn had already begun helping Wal-Mart set policies that would help the Connection Centers grow to a nationwide part of most Wal-Mart stores. As part of this effort to expand the reach of Wal-Mart in the cell phone and digital camera sector, Shawn developed several print products that accompanied nationally produced pamphlets from carriers like Sprint, Alltel, and AT&T.
Requests for Shawn's graphics work at Wal-mart went beyond pamphlets, to other media, including a demo DVD for the regional Wal-mart Photo Centers, and even t-shirts, created at the Store Manager's direction for a community benefit event.

Husker Sports Network
(Formerly the Pinnacle Sports Network)
When Shawn was hired as a Producer for the then-Pinnacle Sports Network, in January of 2006, he never had any idea that the job would grow almost instantly into the Executive Producer position - complete with a 48-page Spring media guide to organize, layout, create, produce, and publish.

By February of 2006, Shawn was not only leading the redevelopment of the two-hour weeknight radio show "Sports Nightly" with brand-new host Lane Grindle. He was also organizing the show during the day, and sometimes running the control board for Sports Nightly in the evening, or screening phone calls for the show - all while building a 48 page sports media guide for publication, often at the same time.

Hague Quality Water - H2ONE
Through the H2ONE project, developed by Shawn together with Dave Bonnicatto of Hague Quality Water of Lincoln, NE, Shawn began to do something even he hadn't quite expected - working with Southeast Nebraska high schools.
To help fund-raising efforts, the H2ONE program began, as a partnership with Hague Quality water. By the time Hague brough the program in-house, Shawn had created water bottles for almost every public and private high school in Lincoln, several Southeast nebraska schools, businesses, and charity events. Douglas Theatre Company
Originally approached through his radio station's General Manager, Julie Gade, Shawn got connected with Paul Berner, a contract graphic artist for Douglas Theatres. The management of Douglas Theatres had liked the graphics Shawn had originally created for an online radio station promotion so much that they asked him to work with Paul on the layout and design of their 2007 Oscar Night benefit tickets and programs.
The result was the two examples you see here. To check out a larger version of either the ticket or the program, click on the one you want to enlarge.
